Hindi to English Translation Exercise 67… ये ऐक्सरसाइज़ Hindi to English Translation Book से ली गयी है, जो कि नीचे दिये गये “Spoken English Guru” English Speaking Course की पुस्तकों में से एक है।

प्रखर दस साल था। वह अपने माँ – बाप की बहुत इज़्ज़त करता था। वह खूब मन लगाकर पढ़ाई भी करता था। कोरोना के कारण उसका स्कूल बंद हो गया था। प्रखर ज़्यादा फ़ोन या लैपटॉप का इस्तेमाल नहीं करता था, लेकिन लॉकडाउन के कारण उसे अपनी सारी क्लासेज़ मोबाइल या पापा के लैपटॉप पर करनी पड़ती थी। अचानक से स्क्रीन पर इतना समय बिताने पर प्रखर के माँ – बाप को उसके आँखों की चिंता होने लगी पर पढ़ाई भी ज़रूरी थी। इस चीज़ को ले कर प्रखर के माँ -बाप चिंता में थे, आखिर वो करें तो करें क्या? उन्होंने अपने रिश्तेदारों से बात की, उनसे पता लगा कि उनके बच्चे भी लैपटॉप या फिर मोबाइल पर ही क्लासेज़ कर रहे हैं, वे भी परेशान हैं और इस बात से चिंतित हैं। एक दिन क्लास के बाद, प्रखर मोबाइल पर कुछ कर रहा था, उसकी माँ जब रूम में आई तो देखा उन्होंने देखा कि प्रखर मोबाइल पर गेम खेल रहा है। माँ ने सोचा कि उसी समय प्रखर के हाथ से फ़ोन छीन ले, यह करने के बजाय माँ ने सोचा कि एक बार प्रखर से पूछ के देखा जाए, वह यह देखना चाहती थी कि प्रखर सच बोलता है या झूठ। माँ ने प्रखर से पूछा कि वह मोबाइल पर क्या कर रहा है, इस पर प्रखर ने जवाब दिया कि उसकी क्लास चल रही है। माँ को यह बात सुन कर झटका लगा, प्रखर एक बहुत ही आज्ञाकारी बच्चा था और उसकी माँ ने उससे झूठ की उम्मीद नहीं की थी। उसके बाद, माँ ने यह बात प्रखर के पापा को बताई और दोनों ने यह तय किया कि किसी न किसी तरीके से प्रखर को मोबाइल और लैपटॉप पर ज़्यादा समय न बिताने दें।

Translation

Prakhar was ten years old. He respected his parents very much. He also used to study very diligently. His school was closed due to Corona. Prakhar did not use phone or laptop much, but due to lockdown he had to do all his classes on mobile or father’s laptop. Due to suddenly spending so much time on the screen, Prakhar’s parents started worrying about his eyes but studies were also important. Prakhar’s parents were worried about this thing; they simply had no other option. They talked to their relatives and came to know from them that their children were also doing classes on laptop or mobile, they too were upset and worried about this. One day after class, Prakhar was doing something on the mobile, when his mother came into the room she saw that Prakhar was playing a game on the mobile. Mother thought of snatching the phone from Prakhar’s hand at that point of time itself, but instead of doing it, she thought of asking Prakhar about it once, she wanted to see if Prakhar would speak the truth or lie. Mother asked Prakhar what he was doing on his mobile, to which Prakhar replied that his class was going on. Mother was shocked to hear this, Prakhar was a very obedient child and his mother did not expect him to lie. After that, mother told this to Prakhar’s father and both of them decided that in some way or the other, Prakhar should not be allowed to spend too much time on mobile and laptop.
