Hindi to English Translation Exercise 68… ये ऐक्सरसाइज़ Hindi to English Translation Book से ली गयी है, जो कि नीचे दिये गये “Spoken English Guru” English Speaking Course की पुस्तकों में से एक है।

प्रखर की माँ इस बात का ध्यान रखा करती कि प्रखर मोबाइल पर क्या कर रहा है, क्लास ख़त्म होते ही वह मोबाइल ले लेती। पिताजी ने भी अपना लैपटॉप प्रखर को देना कम कर दिया। प्रखर को यह एहसास हुआ कि उसके साथ माँ – पापा आज-कल थोड़ा अलग सा बर्ताव कर रहे हैं, एक दिन खाते समय उसने उनसे पूछ ही लिया कि आखिर पिछले कुछ दिन से वह दोनों थोड़ा अलग से रुख क्यों अपना रहे हैं। प्रखर के माँ – बाप ने सोचा कि प्रखर से सीधी – सीधी बात कर ली जाए। उन्होंने प्रखर से मोबाईल पर गेम खेले जाने के बारे में पूछा। इस पर प्रखर ने जवाब दिया कि दरअसल वह अपने एक दोस्त प्रमोद के कारण एक गेम खेलने का आदी हो गया था, क्लास ख़त्म होते ही दो से तीन घंटे वो और उसके और कुछ दोस्त गेम खेलते। प्रखर ने बताया कि उसने खुद बहुत कोशिश कि वह इस आदत को किसी तरह से ख़त्म करे लेकिन उसकी लगातार सभी कोशिशों के बावजूद वह ऐसा नहीं कर पा रहा था। उसने बताया कि जबसे माँ ने उस पर नज़र रखना शुरू किया, तब से उसे इस आदत को छोड़ने में बहुत मदद मिली। यह सब सुन कर प्रखर के माता पिता ने चैन की सांस ली और अपने नम्र रवैये से ही प्रखर को रास्ते पर लाने से वह बहुत ही खुश थे। कुछ दिन में ही, प्रखर की खुद ही मोबाइल कम इस्तेमाल करने लगा; लोगों से बात करना, खेलना – कूदना और किताबें पढ़ना अब उसे ज़्यादा अच्छे लगते थे।

Translation

Prakhar’s mother used to take care of what Prakhar was doing on mobile; she would take the mobile as soon as the class was over. His father also stopped giving his laptop to Prakhar. Prakhar realized that his parents were behaving a little differently with him these days. One day, while eating, he asked them why they were behaving differently in the last few days. Prakhar’s parents thought to talk directly to Prakhar. They asked Prakhar about playing games on mobile. On this, Prakhar replied that in fact, he had got addicted to playing a game with one of his friends Pramod, he and some of his friends would play the game for two to three hours after the class was over. Prakhar said that he tried very hard to get rid of this habit in some way but despite his all his constant efforts, he was not able to do so. He said that ever since mother started keeping an eye on him, it helped him a lot in giving up this habit. Hearing all this, Prakhar’s parents heaved a sigh of relief and were very happy to bring Prakhar on the path with their humble attitude. Within a few days, Prakhar himself started using his mobile less; he now preferred interacting with people, playing sports and reading books instead.
