Hindi to English Translation Exercise 27

Hindi to English Translation Exercise 27… ये ऐक्सरसाइज़ Hindi to English Translation Book से ली गयी है, जो कि नीचे दिये गये “Spoken English Guru” English Speaking Course की पुस्तकों में से एक है।

गीता अपनी छोटी बहन को इतनी बड़ी बातें करते देख अचंभित थी और साथ ही साथ गर्व भी महसूस कर रही थी कि सीमा की सोच कितनी बड़ी है।  माँ ने सीमा को कहा कि आज तो नारी सशक्तिकरण का ज़माना है, हर क्षेत्र में नारी का बोलबाला है, चाहे विज्ञान हो , उद्योग हो या साहित्य।  गीता ने भी छोटी बहन को समझाया कि उसे हर प्रकार के क्षेत्र में आगे बढ़ने की पूरी छूट है।  माँ को पता था कि सीमा को नृत्य का बहुत शौक था और उन्हें लगता था कि शायद आगे जाकर उसे नृत्य के क्षेत्र में ही नाम कमाना हो। यह बात सोचकर उन्होंने सीमा से पूछा कि क्या उसने आगे का कुछ सोचा है कि उसे क्या करना है ? सीमा अचानक से भावुक हो गयी और उसके साथ – साथ गीता की आँखों में भी आँसू आ गए। अपनी दोनों बेटियों को ऐसे रोते हुए देख कर माँ घबरा गयी। उन्होंने घबराई हुई हालत में पूछा कि वे क्यों रो रही हैं ? गीता ने बताया कि सीमा का सपना भारतीय वायु सेना में जाने का है , यह सुनकर माँ बहुत खुश हुई।  गीता ने बताया कि ये बात जब सीमा ने अपनी कक्षा में जब सबको बताई तो सब उस पर हंसने लगे और कहने लगे कि फ़ौज में जाना सिर्फ लड़कों के बस में होता है, लड़कियाँ बहुत ही कमज़ोर होती हैं और वे इतनी शक्ति नहीं जुटा पाएँगी। माँ ने सीमा के आँसू पोछते हुए पहले उसे इस बात के लिए डाटा कि उसने ये बात घर पर क्यों नहीं बताई।  इसके बाद उन्होंने दोनों बेटियों को बड़े ही प्यार से समझाया कि औरत तो शक्ति का प्रतीक होती है क्योंकि वह घर के साथ साथ बाहर के काम भी बड़ी निपुणता से करती है।  इसके साथ साथ उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि शारीरिक क्षमता से कहीं बढ़कर मानसिक दृढ़ता यह तय करती है कि कोई कितना शक्तिशाली है।  सीमा के कंधे पर हाथ रखते हुए उसकी माँ ने उसे शाबाशी दी और कहा कि उन्हें गर्व है कि वह उनकी बेटी है।  माँ की इन बातों से गीता और सीमा दोनों को बहुत हौसला मिला और वे फिर से मुस्कुरा उठीं और माँ को गले से लगा के लिपट गए। माँ ने दोनों को समझाया कि हमेशा हिम्मत और हौंसले के साथ हर किसी का मुकाबला करना चाहिए और कभी भी खुद को कम नहीं आंकना नहीं चाहिए।  कल्पना चावला का उदाहरण देते हुए माँ ने दोनों बेटियों को ऐसी कई महिलाओं के बारे में बताया जिन्होंने सारी मुश्किलों के बावजूद पूरे देश का नाम रौशन किया है। सीमा मन ही मन यह सोच रही थी कि वह बहुत ही किस्मत वाली है कि उसे ऐसी माँ मिली है जो इतनी हौसला अफ़ज़ाई करती हैं और उन्हें समझती  हैं।

Translation

Geeta was surprised to see her younger sister talking so maturely and at the same time felt proud of how good Seema’s thoughts were. Mother told Seema that it is the era of women empowerment, women are dominating in every field, be it science, industry or literature. Geeta also explained to the younger sister that she had complete freedom to excel in all kinds of fields. Mother knew that Seema was very fond of dance and thought that she might have to establish herself in the field of dance. Thinking this, she asked Seema if she thought anything further about what she had to do. Seema suddenly became emotional and along with it, Geeta got tears in her eyes. Their mother got nervous after seeing her two of the daughters crying like that. She asked nervously why they were crying? Geeta told that Seema dreamt of joining the Indian Air Force, hearing to which mother became very happy. Geeta said that when Seema told this thing to everyone in her class, everyone started laughing at her and said that going into the army was just of boys calibre, girls were very weak and couldn’t muster the courage to do so. The mother first wiped Seema’s tears and scolded her as to why she did not tell this thing at home. After this, she lovingly explained to both the daughters that the woman is a symbol of power because she does household as well as outside work with proficiency. Along with that, she also said that mental fortitude, more than physical ability determines how powerful someone is. Keeping a hand on Seema’s shoulder, her mother complimented her and said that she was proud that she was her daughter. Geeta and Seema both got very encouraged by their mother’s words and they smiled again and hugged their mother. The mother explained to both that everyone should always compete with courage and grit and never underestimate them. Giving the example of Kalpana Chawla, the mother told both the daughters about many other women who have made the whole country proud despite all the difficulties. Seema was thinking that she was very lucky that she had got such a mother who was so understanding and kept on encouraging her.
