Nature (n.) – नेचर – प्रकृति/स्वभाव – Environment /Character

  • लोग प्रकृति का आनंद लेने कश्मीर जाया करते हैं।
    People use to visit Kashmir to enjoy nature.

  • मनुष्य को स्वभाव से आशावादी होना चाहिए।
    A man should be optimistic by nature.

Necessary (n.) – नैसेसरी – अनिवार्य / जरूरी –  Mandatory / Required

  • कार चलाने के लिए लाइसेंस होना अनिवार्य है।
    It is necessary to have a license to drive a car.

  • अच्छी सेहत के लिए आठ घंटे की नींद ज़रूरी है।
    Eight hours of sleep is necessary for good health.

Necessity (n.) – नेसेसिटी – आवश्यकता / ज़रुरत – Need / Requirement

  • कोरोना वायरस का समय, हमें यह सीख दे रहा है कि हमारे जीवन में आखिर किन चीज़ों की आवश्यकता सबसे अधिक है और कौन हमारे जीवन में मायने रखती हैं।
    The time of CoronaVirus is giving us a lesson about what are the necessities in our life and who and what all matter in our lives.

  • किसी भी परिस्तिथि में घबराने से काम नहीं होता , हमें शांत और प्रयासरत होने की आवश्यकता होती है।
    Getting panic is not the solution to tackle any situation; the necessity is to be calm and not give up.

Needless (adj.) – नीडलैस – ज़रूरत नहीं – No need

  • कहने की ज़रूरत नहीं, कि वो पागल है।
    Needless to say that he is mad.

  • पूछने की ज़रूरत नहीं, वो पहले से ही जानता है।
    Needless to ask, he already knows.

Nefarious (adj.) – निफेरियस – महापापी – Dishonest / Untrustworthy

  • श्रद्धा के अनुसार, औरतों पर ज़ुल्म और अत्याचार करने वाले लोगों से बड़ा महापापी इस दुनिया में कोई नहीं है।
    According to Shraddha, the one who does violence and tortures women is the biggest nefarious in the entire world.

  • आज के समय में जो लोग जीव हत्या करते हैं, वो राक्षस के समान है और उनकी गिनती महापापिओं में की जा सकती है।
    In today’s date, the ones who make creature killing are similar to demons, and they should be counted as the nefarious ones.

Negation (n.) – निगेशन – नकारात्मकता / मनाही – Denial / Rejection

  • सभा में जब बिल पेश हुआ तब कुछ लोग उसके पक्ष में थे लेकिन बाकी बचे हुए लोगों की असहमति के कारण बिल पास नहीं हो पाया ।
    When the bill was presented in the house, some people were in favour of it, but the rest of the people’s negation made sure the bill remained unpassed.

  • अक्सर देशों के बीच ऐसा होता है कि उन्हें युद्ध के दौरान किसी एक के साथ सहमत या असहमत होना पड़ता है लेकिन कई ऐसे देश भी होते हैं जो किसी का पक्ष नहीं लेते ।
    Often, it happens between countries that during the time of war, they have to either have association or negation with one party, but there are some countries such that they don’t take any of the sides.

Negligence (adj.) – नैग्लिजैन्स – लापरवाही – Inattention, Laches

  • हमें हमेशा सतर्क रहना चाहिए क्योंकि कई बार हमें अपनी लापरवाही का बहुत बड़ा नुक्सान भुगतना पड़ता है।
    We should always be alert because many times we have to pay heavily for our negligence.

  • गाड़ी चलते समय, थोड़ी सी भी लापरवाही, हमारे और हमारे आस – पास के लोगों के लिए बहुत ही ज़्यादा जानलेवा साबित हो सकती है।
    Any negligence while driving a car can be fatal for us as well as people around.

  • उसने लापरवाही के लिए माफी मांगी, लेकिन बॉस ने उसे माफ नहीं किया।
    He apologized for the negligence, but the boss didn’t forgive him.

  • मैं लापरवाही बिल्कुल भी बर्दाश्त नहीं कर सकता।
    I can’t tolerate negligence at all.

Negligible (adj.) – नैग्लिजिबल – बहुत कम / ना के बराबर – Insignificant, Petty, Small

  • कंप्यूटर में उसका ज्ञान बहुत कम है।
    His knowledge of computers is negligible.

  • आपकी रोजाना की कमाई के सामने उसकी महीने की सेलेरी भी ना के बराबर है।
    Even, his monthly salary is negligible against your daily income.

Negotiate (vti.) – नेगोशिएट – मोल भाव करना – Bargain

  • दुकानदार से सामान खरीदते समय, ग्राहक का यह अधिकार है कि वह सामान पर लिखे दाम को लेकर मोल भाव कर सकता है।
    While buying any product from the shopkeeper, it is the right of a customer that he/she can negotiate on the price that is printed on the product.

  • नेहा मोल भाव करने में माहिर है , वो जब सिद्धि के साथ घूमने गयी तो उन्होंने बहुत ही सस्ते में वहाँ से सजाने के कई सारे सामान लिए।
    Neha was an expert in negotiation, when she went shopping with Siddhi; she got the decorative items for so cheap.

Nepotism (n.) – नैपोटिज़म –  भाई-भतीजावाद – Privilege to the dear ones

  • फिल्म उद्योग में नैपोटिज़म बहुत आम है।
    Nepotism is pretty common in film industry.

  • नैपोटिज़म हमेशा अनैतिक नहीं होता है, क्योंकि हर कोई, जाहिर है, अपने निकट और प्रिय लोगों को लाभान्वित करेगा।
    Nepotism is not always unethical, as everyone would obviously benefit his near and dear ones.

  • उसके पिता एक राजा थे, केवल इसलिए वो ही राजा बनेगा, ये नैपोटिज़म है।
    His father was a king, that’s why only he will become the king, is Nepotism.

Nervous (adj.) – नर्वस – घबराना / बेचैन होना – Tense / Anxious

  • रमेश मंच पर आने से पहले हमेशा घबरा जाता है।
    Ramesh always gets nervous before arriving on stage.

  • अपनी परेशानी बताकर तुमने मुझे बेचैन कर दिया।
    You made me nervous by telling your problems.

Newbie (adj.) – न्यूबी – नौसिखिया – Novice, New

  • मैं इस खेल के लिए एक नौसिखिया हूँ।
    I am a newbie to this game.

  • मैं एक नौसिखिया नहीं रखना चाहता, मुझे एक विशेषज्ञ की आवश्यकता है।
    I don’t want to hire a newbie, I need an expert.

Nightmare (n.) – नाइटमेयर – डरावना / दुस्स्वप्न / बुरा सपना  – Bad dream / Fearsome

  • 2003 विश्व कप फाइनल मुकाबले में ऑस्ट्रेलिया के खिलाफ, सचिन का पहले ही ओवर में आउट हो जाना, भारतीय दर्शकों के लिए किसी डरावने सपने से काम नहीं था।
    Sachin getting out in the first over of the final match against in the 2003 World Cup was like a nightmare for all the Indian fans.

  • उज्जवल का फ़ोन उसके हाथ से गिर कर चूर – चूर हो गया, वह पल उसके लिए किसी बुरे सपने जैसा था।
    Ujjawal’s phone slipped from his hands, and it shattered, that moment was like a nightmare for him.

Nominal (adj.) – नॉमिनल – नाममात्र का – Titular / Of no much significance

  • राष्ट्रपति को तो बस नाम मात्र की ताक़त होती है , असली शक्ति तो प्रधानमंत्री के पास होती है।
    The President has the nominal powers, and the real power rests with the Prime Minister.

  • आएशा को पार्क के पास पार्किंग करने के लिए नाम मात्र पैसे लगे , उसे तीन घंटे के लिए केवल दस रूपए देने पड़े।
    The parking near the park cost Aisha a nominal amount, she had to pay just around ten rupees for three hours.

Novel (n. & adj.) – नॉवल – उपन्यास / नया –  Fiction / Novel

  • लोग लॉकडाउन के दौरान उपन्यास पढ़ने का आनंद ले रहे हैं।
    People are enjoying reading novel during lockdown.

  • कोविद-19 को नए कोरोना वायरस के रूप में जाना जाता है क्योंकि यह एक नया वायरस है।
    COVID-19 is referred to as the novel Corona virus because it is a new virus.

Novelty (n.) – नोवेल्टी – नयापन / नवीनता – Newness

  • अपने काम में नयापन लाने के लिए उसने कई तरीके अपनाये, लेकिन एक भी तरीका उसके काम न आया।
    To bring novelty in his work, he tried many ways, but even one of his methods didn’t work.

  • घर में सादे रंग को हटवा कर, सरला ने नीले रंग से दीवारों को रंगवाया जिससे कि एक नयापन आये।
    Getting the plain colour removed, Sarla got the walls painted with blue colour to bring some novelty.

Nurture (vt.) – नर्चर – पालना / देखभाल करना – Bring up

  • पर्यावरण हमें इतनी सारी चीज़ें देता है तो हमारा भी फ़र्ज़ बनता है कि हम उसकी अच्छे से देखभाल करें और संभल कर रखें।
    Nature provides us with so many things, so it’s our responsibility that we should nurture it and keep it conserved.

  • श्रेयम का जन्म तो अमृतसर में हुआ था लेकिन उसके मामा ने उसे पाला जो कि कनाडा में रहते हैं।
    Shreyam was born in Amritsar, but his uncle nurtured him, who lives in Canada.

Nutrient (adj.) – न्यूट्रियन्ट – पोषक तत्व / पौष्टिक खाद्यपदार्थ – Nutrition/ Healthy foodstuff
