Meaning of English Sentences
English sentences are groups of words put together in a proper way to share an idea. A sentence must be complete and clear. It can give information, ask a question, give a suggestion, make a request, or give a command.
Definition of English Sentences
The Oxford Learner’s Dictionary says an English sentences is “a set of words expressing a statement, a question, or an order, usually containing a subject and a verb.”
The Cambridge Dictionary defines an English sentence as “a group of words, usually containing a verb, that expresses a thought in the form of a statement, question, instruction, or exclamation.”
How to Make English Sentences?
To make English sentences, words must be in the correct order. Sentences have words, phrases, and clauses, and they must be arranged properly to make sense.
Word Order
Most English sentences start with a subject (a person or thing). The verb comes after the subject. Sometimes, a determiner (like “a,” “an,” or “the”) comes before the subject.
By following these rules, you can write and speak better English sentences.
