Mother: Shreya, why are you not doing your homework?
माँ: श्रेया, तुम अपना होमवर्क क्यों नहीं कर रही हो?

Shreya: I don’t understand the questions. They are really difficult.
श्रेया: मुझे सवाल समझ नहीं आ रहे हैं। वे बहुत मुश्किल हैं।

Mother: A question is only difficult until you know how to solve them. You need to practice to get better.
माँ: एक सवाल केवल तब तक मुश्किल होता है जब तक तुम उसे हल करना नहीं जानते। तुम्हें बेहतर होने के लिए अभ्यास करने की ज़रुरत है।

Shreya: Mom, how am I supposed to solve the questions when I do not even understand them?
श्रेया: माँ, मैं कैसे उन सवालों को हल करूँ जब मैं उन्हें समझ भी नहीं पा रही हूँ?

Mother: If the lesson was not clear to you why did you not ask your teacher about it in the class?
माँ: अगर लेसन तुम्हारे लिए क्लियर नहीं था तो तुमने अपने क्लास में अपने शिक्षक से इसके बारे में क्यों नहीं पूछा?

Shreya: I tried but there was no time left after the class and she went home early.
श्रेया: मैंने कोशिश की लेकिन क्लास के बाद समय नहीं बचा और वह जल्दी घर चली गई।

Mother: Well that’s bad. She should clear the doubts of the students before giving them homework.
माँ: अच्छा, ये तो गलत है। उन्हें होमवर्क देने से पहले छात्रों के डाउट्स दूर करने चाहिए।

Shreya: She rarely does that. She thinks, asking questions in the middle of the class creates disturbance so she tells us to ask them after the class, but then we don’t get time after the class.
श्रेया: वह शायद ही कभी ऐसा करती हैं। वो सोचती हैं कि क्लास के बीच में प्रश्न पूछना परेशानी पैदा करता है इसलिए वो हमें क्लास के बाद पूछने के लिए कहती हैं, लेकिन तब हमें क्लास के बाद समय नहीं मिलता है।

Mother: I should complain to your principal about it.
माँ: मुझे तुम्हारे प्रिंसिपल से इसकी शिकायत करनी चाहिए।

Shreya: She is a very good teacher otherwise. Anyway even the principal can’t do much about it because we have many topics to cover in very little time. The school hours are not enough for clearing doubts.
श्रेया: वो वैसे तो बहुत अच्छी टीचर हैं। वैसे भी प्रिंसिपल इसके बारे में बहुत कुछ नहीं कर सकते क्योंकि हमारे पास बहुत कम समय में कवर करने के लिए कई विषय हैं। डाउट्स दूर करने के लिए स्कूल का इतना टाइम काफ़ी नहीं।

Mother: That would always create problems for the students then. I can help you but I also have my own work to do. It’s not possible for me to manage everything alone. Clearing your doubts should be the responsibility of your teacher. That is the proper way.
माँ: ये तो हमेशा विद्यार्थियों के लिए समस्याएँ पैदा करेगा। मैं तुम्हारी मदद कर सकती हूं लेकिन मुझे मेरा अपना काम भी करना है। मेरे लिए अकेले सब कुछ मैनेज करना संभव नहीं है। तुम्हारे डाउट्स दूर करना तुम्हारे शिक्षक की जिम्मेदारी होनी चाहिए। यही सही तरीका है।

Shreya: What am I supposed to do for now?
श्रेया: मुझे अभी के लिए क्या करना चाहिए?

Mother: I will help you this time but I will talk to your teacher later and make sure that she clears all your doubts in the class from next time.
माँ: मैं इस समय तुम्हारी मदद करूंगी लेकिन मैं तुम्हारे शिक्षक से बाद में बात करूँगी और सुनिश्चित करूँगी कि वह अगली बार से क्लास में तुम्हारे सभी डाउट्स दूर कर दिया करें।

Shreya: Okay mom!
श्रेया: ठीक है माँ!

Mother: Go bring your textbook. We will begin now.
माँ: अपनी बुक लाओ। हम अब शुरू करेंगे।

Shreya: Yes mom!
श्रेया: हाँ माँ!
