Let’s first practice Passive Voice sentences:

तुम्हें डाँटा जाता है।
(Tumhein daanta jata hai.)
You are scolded.

हमें पीटा जा रहा था।
(Humein peeta ja raha tha.)
We were being beaten.

India is known as a peaceful nation.

क्या उसे भेजा गया?
(Kya use bheja gaya?)
Was he sent?

तुम्हारे लिए स्पेशल खाना बनाया जा रहा है।
(Tumhare liye special khana banaya ja raha hai.)
A special food is being prepared for you.

उनके साथ वहाँ बुरा बर्ताव किया गया।
(Unke saath vaha bura bartaav kiya gaya.)
They were treated badly there.

उसे एक महान योद्धा के रूप में जाना जाता था।
(Use ek mahan yoddha ke roop mein jana jata tha.)
He was known as a great warrior.

ये लिखा जा चुका है।
(Ye likha ja chuka hai.)
It has been written.

क्या उसे प्यार किया जाता है?
(Kya use pyar kiya jata hai?)
Is he loved?

फिल्म के मेगा हिट होने की घोषणा की जा चुकी है।
(film ke mega hit hone ki ghoshna ho chuki hai.)
The movie has been declared a mega-hit.

गैंग के मुखिया को 2:00 बजे मार्केट में देखा गया है।
(Gang ke mukhiya ko 2:00 baje market mein dekha gaya hai.)
The chief of the gang has been seen in the market at 2.

क्या उन्हें इस शरारत के लिए डाँटा गया?
(Kya unhe is shrarat ke liye daanta gaya?)
Were they scolded for this mischief?

दोनों दोषियों की पहचान की जा चुकी है।
(Dono doshiyo ki pahchan kee ja chukee hai.)
Both the culprits have been identified.

चाय हर सुबह पी जाती है।
(Chai har subah pee jatee hai.)
Tea is taken every morning.

उसे किसके साथ भेजा गया?
(Use kiske saath bheja gaya?)
Whom was he sent with?

उसे मर्डर के बारे में क्यों नहीं पूछा जाता?
(Use murder ke bare mein kyo nahi pochha jata?)
Why is he not asked about the murder?

4 टिकटें बुक कर ली गयी हैं।
(4 tickten book kar lee gayi hai.)
4 Tickets have been booked.

किस्मत से मुझे वहाँ भेजा गया और मैं तुमसे मिला।
(Kismat se mujhe vaha bheja gaya aur main tumse mila.)
Fortunately, I was sent there and I met you.

मुझे एक अध्यापक के रूप में जाना जाता है।
(Mujhe ek adhyapak ke roop mein jana jata hai.)
I am known as a teacher.

बच्चों को बाहर भेजा गया।
(Bachchon ko bahar bheja gaya.)
Children were sent outside.

मुझे इसके बारे में सूचित नहीं किया गया।
(Mujhe iske bare mein soochit nahi kiya gaya.)
I was not informed about this.

किताबें छापी जा रही हैं।
(Kitabein chhapee ja rahee hai.)
Books are being printed.

इस जगह से कुछ कुर्सियाँ हटाई गई हैं।
(Is jagah se kuch kursiyaan hataee gai hai.)
Few/Some chairs have been moved from this place.

इस इलाके में कारें नहीं चलाई जाती।
(Is ilaake mein carey nahi chlai jati.)
Cars are not driven in this area.

उसे कब तक नहीं पूछा गया?
(Use kab tak nahi puchha gaya?)
Until when was he not asked?

हर जगह मिठाइयां बाँटी जा रही हैं।
(Har jagah mithiyaan batee ja rahee hai.)
Sweets are being distributed everywhere.

वहाँ एक बिल्डिंग बनाई जा चुकी है।
(Waha ek building banai ja chuki hai.)
A building has been constructed there.

वो पुलिस के द्वारा पकड़ा गया।
(Vo police ke dwara pakda gaya.)
He was caught by the police.

प्याज और आलू काफी अधिक मात्रा में काटे गये।
(Pyaaj aur aaloo kaphee adhik matra mein kate gaye.)
Onions and potatoes were cut in a huge quantity.

अपराधियों को ढूँढा जा रहा है।
(Apradhiyo ko dhoondha ja raha hai.)
The criminals are being tracked.

उसे गोली से मार दिया गया।
(Use goli se maar diya gaya.)
He was shot dead.

बारिश के कारण मीटिंग रद्द कर दी गयी।
(Barish ke karan meeting radd kar di gayee.)
The meeting was canceled due to rain.

घड़ी ठीक कराई गयी।
(Ghadee theek karaee gayee.)
The watch was repaired.

हमें ऐसा कुछ नहीं दिया गया है।
(Hamein aisa kuch nahi diya gaya hai.)
We have not been given anything as such.

हमें वहाँ फालतू में क्यों भेजा जाता है?
(Hamein vaha faltu mein kyo bheja jata hai?)
Why are we unnecessarily sent there?

मुझे कहीं भेजा गया।
(Mujhe kahi bheja gaya.)
I was sent somewhere.

क्या तुम्हें बताया गया है कि हम कहाँ हैं?
(Kya tumhein bataya gaya hai ki hum kaha hai?)
Have you been told where we are?

एक विद्यार्थी को उसके सहपाठी द्वारा प्रताड़ित किया गया।
(ek vidyarthee ko uske sahpathee dwara pratadit kiya gaya.)
A student was tortured by his classmate.

दीवाली खुशी से मनाई गई।
(Diwali khushi se manaee gai.)
Diwali was celebrated with joy.

क्या तुम्हें तुम्हारी लापरवाही के लिए दंड दिया जाएगा?
(Kya tumhein tumhari laparvahee ke liye dand diya jaega?)
Will you be punished for your negligence?

हमें कहीं और भेजा जा रहा है।
(Hamein kahi aur bheja ja raha hai.)
We are being sent somewhere else.

पैन उठा लिया गया है।
(Pen utha liya gaya hai.)
The pen has been picked.

उसे यह क्यों दिया गया?
(Use yah kyo diya gaya?)
Why was he given this?

हमें क्या बताया गया?
(Hamein kya bataya gaya?)
What were we told?

उन्हें कहाँ भेजा गया था?
(Unhein kaha bheja gaya tha?)
Where had they been sent?

उसे घसीट कर पुलिस स्टेशन ले जाया गया।
(Use ghaseet kar police station le jaya gaya.)
He was dragged to the police station.

हमारी किताबों को फाड़ा गया और कूड़ेदान में फेंक दिया गया।
(Hamari kitabo ko fada gaya aur koodedaan mein phenk diya gaya.)
Our books were torn & thrown into the dustbin.

हमें 6 क्लास तक अंग्रेजी नहीं पढ़ाई जाती।
(Hamein 6 class tak angrezee nahi padhaee jatee.)
We are not taught English up to the 6th standard.

इस साल केवल कुछ विद्यार्थियों को लैपटॉप दिये गये हैं।
(Is saal keval kuch vidyarthiyo ko lapatop diye gaye hai.)
Only a few students have been given laptops this year.

25 प्रतिशत सीटें गरीब स्टूडेंट्स के लिए आरक्षित हैं।
(25 pratishat seetein gareeb students ke liye aarakshit hai.)
25% of seats are reserved for poor students.

इंसान को स्वर्ग भेजा जाता है अगर वो अच्छे कर्म करे।
(Insaan ko swarg bheja jata hai agar vo achchhe karm kare.)
Human is sent to heaven if he does good deeds.

राम को भेजा जा सकता है।
(Ram ko bheja ja sakta hai.)
Ram can be sent.

उसे पूछा जाना चाहिए था।
(Use puchha jana chaahiye tha.)
He should have been asked.

हमें भेजा जाना है।
(Hamein bheja jana hai.)
We have to be sent.

तुम्हें बुलाया जाना था पर नहीं बुलाया जा सका।
(Tumhein bulaya jana tha par nahi bulaya ja saka.)
You had to be called but couldn’t be.

ये काम हो जाना चाहिए था।
(Ye kaam ho jana chahiye tha.)
This work should have been done.

मम्मी को पूछा जाता था।
(Mummy ko puchha jata tha.)
Mom used to be asked.

क्या राम को किताब दी जा सकती है?
(Kya Ram ko kitaab dee ja sakti hai?)

तुम्हें क्यों नहीं पढ़ाया जा सका?
(Tumhein kyo nahi padhaya ja saka?)
Why could you not be taught?

मोबाइल का प्रयोग क्यों होना चाहिए?

हमें क्या पढ़ाया जाता था?

मुझे मोबाइल दिया जा सकता है।

सारे प्रश्न हल किये जा सकते हैं।

All the questions can be solved.

खाने का तरीका सुधारा जा सकता है।
(khane ka tareeka sudhara ja sakta hai.)
The way of eating can be improved.

उसे राम की वजह से बुलाया गया।
(use ram kee vajah se bulaya gaya.)
He was called due to Ram.

मुझे कंपनी से बाहर नहीं निकाला जा सका।
(Mujhe company se bahar nahi nikala ja saka.)
I could not be fired from the company.

किसी का भी दिल दुखाया जा सकता है।
(kisi ka bhi dil dukhaya ja sakta hai.)
Anybody can be hurt.

हर किसी का दिल नहीं जीता जा सकता।
(Har kisi ka dil nahi jeeta ja sakta.)
One can’t win everyone’s heart.

मेरे साथ किसी को भेजा नहीं जाना चाहिए।
(Mere saath kisi ko bheja nahi jana chahie.)
No one should be sent with me. /
I should not be sent with anyone.

उसे कहाँ भेजा जाना चाहिए।
(Use kaha bheja jana chahiye.)
Where should he be sent?

उसका नाम कुछ देर बाद पुकारा जाना है।
(uska naam kuch der baad pukara jana hai.)
His name is to be called after a while.

यहाँ पर पैन से लिखा जाना है।
(Yaha par pen se likha jana hai.)
The pen is to be used here.

तुम्हें ये नहीं दिया जाना।
(Tumhein ye nahi diya jana.)
You are not to be given this.

मछलियों को कहीं और भेजा जा सकता है।
(Machhliyo ko kaheen aur bheja ja sakta hai.)
The Fish can be sent somewhere else.

ये पानी पिया नहीं जा सकता क्योंकि यह खारा है।
(Ye pani piya nahi ja sakta kyoki yah khara hai.)
This water is not drinkable as it is saline.

इसे किसी भी हाल में बेच दिया जाना चाहिए।
(Ise kisi bhi haal mein bech diya jana chahiye.)
It should be sold at any cost.

मुझे पढ़ने नहीं दिया जाता।
(Mujhe padhne nahi diya jata.)
I am not let study.

Let’s now change sentences from Active to Passive Voice:

Active: He knows me very well.
Passive: I am known by him very well.

Active: He doesn’t know me very well.
Passive: I am not known by him very well. / I am not well known by him.

Active: I gave you a few books two months ago.
Passive: A few books were given by me two months ago.

Active: The police had investigated this matter.
Passive: This matter had been investigated by the police.

Active: They have watched this kind of movie many a time.
Passive: This kind of movie has been watched by them many a time.

Active: Tomorrow before 10, he will have called you.
Passive: You will have been called by him tomorrow before 10.

Active: He does not treat people in a bad way.
Passive: People are not treated by him in a bad way.

Active: Did you find my watch somewhere?
Passive: Was my watch found by you somewhere?

Active: You could send somebody else.
Passive: Somebody else could be sent by you.

Active: He would have sent you home.
Passive: You would have been sent home by him.

Active: You can sell this pen for Rs. 50.
Passive: This pen can be sold by you for Rs. 50.

Active: You should convey this message to all of us.
Passive: This message should be conveyed by you to all of us. / All of us should be conveyed a message by you.

Active: I have to send a message.
Passive: A message has to be sent by me today.

Active: He has to read this book.
Passive: This book has to be read by him.

Active: He needs to clean the room.
Passive: The room needs to be cleaned by him.

Active: He needs to clean the rooms.
Passive: The rooms need to be cleaned by him.

Active: Do this work today.
Passive: Let this work be done today.

Active: Wash the shirt.
Passive: Let the shirt be washed.

Active: I have a few books to send him.
